Spirit of Texas Sporting Dog Club is run by a team of dedicated volunteers, all of whom share their personal expertise to ensure the effective leadership and management of the club. The Board appoints committees to accomplish many things, and we always need help.

BREEDER EDUCATION - This committee is responsible for setting up Webinars, compile and maintain a list of breeders/exhibitors of qualified mentors willing to educate newcomers, to promote the Mission of the Club.

BREEDER REFERRAL - This committee is responsible for maintaining a list of club members who meet and fully comply with the Code of Ethics of this club and have puppies for sale. They will review all inquires for puppies and help connect Breeder to Buyer.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH - This committee is dedicated to building relationships between the club and the community it serves. Its primary goal is to engage with the community, foster collaboration, and address canine needs within the community.

FUNDRAISING - This committee is crucial in securing financial support needed to run the club's programs, education outreach and events. The primary job is to develop and execute strategies to bring in money and resources, ensuring the club stays financially healthy and can fulfill its mission.

CANINE HEALTH - This committee is responsible for planning and organizing health testing events for dogs, helping breeders and owners maintain and improve the health of their animals. These clinics are often open to the public and provide discounted or convenient access to important screenings recommended by breed clubs or the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA).

HUNT TEST - This committee is responsible for planning, managing, and executing the club’s AKC hunt test and other sporting dog hunting events.. This role is vital to ensuring the test runs smoothly, meets all AKC regulations, and provides a fair and fun experience for dogs and handlers.

JUNIOR ADVISOR -in a dog club is dedicated to supporting, mentoring, and encouraging youth participation in dog sports—especially in Junior Showmanship. The committee helps build the next generation of responsible dog owners, handlers, breeders, and club leaders.

MEMBERSHIP - This committee is responsible for recruiting members, keeping record of applications, submitting applications to the Board, tracking member attendance at meetings and events and maintaining a membership list.
CHAIR: Stacey Green
NEWSLETTER - This committee, which includes the Courier Editor, is responsible for collecting and disseminating information of interest to the membership on a monthly basis.

OTHER TITLES - This committee is responsible for planning, managing and executing the club's AKC title events, including CGC, AKC Fit Dog, Star Puppy and Farm Dog.

PERFORMANCE - This committee is responsible for planning, managing and executing the club's AKC performance events, including Agility, Obedience, Rally, Tracking, Scent Work, Fast CAT, CAT, Dock Diving, Flyball and Fetch. This role is vital to ensuring the events run smoothly, the AKC regulations are met and that the events provide a fair and fun experience for all.

SHOW COMMITTEE - This committee is responsible for organizing and managing conformation events. This will require working with the Board as well as AKC.
